White Hart
The White Hart, located in Wolverhampton, dates back to the 16th century and has a rich history of paranormal activity. Originally a coaching inn, the building has served as a pub for centuries, witnessing countless events and harboring numerous spirits. One of the most frequently reported apparitions is that of a young girl in Victorian-era clothing, often seen wandering the upper floors and staircase. Staff and patrons have described hearing her footsteps and giggles echoing through the building.
Another notable spirit is believed to be a former landlord who died on the premises. Witnesses have reported seeing a shadowy male figure in the bar area, sometimes moving glasses or bottles. Some staff members claim to have felt an unseen presence watching them while working alone.
The cellar is said to be particularly active, with many employees refusing to enter it alone. Reports include sudden temperature drops, unexplained noises, and the sensation of being touched by invisible hands. One documented incident involved a delivery driver who fled the cellar in terror after witnessing barrels moving on their own.
During the English Civil War, the White Hart served as a makeshift hospital for wounded soldiers. Some visitors have reported seeing apparitions of men in 17th-century military attire, particularly in the older parts of the building. Disembodied voices and the sound of battle cries have also been heard late at night.
The pub’s long-standing reputation for paranormal activity has attracted numerous ghost hunters and psychic investigators over the years, with many documenting their experiences and capturing alleged evidence of spectral phenomena.
