University College London (UCL), founded in 1826, is steeped in history and reputed paranormal activity. The Bloomsbury campus features Victorian-era buildings where numerous ghost sightings have occurred over the decades. One of the most infamous spectral residents is said to be that of Emeline Pankhurst, the suffragette leader who studied at UCL. Staff and students have reported seeing her ghostly figure in the Cruciform Building, formerly the University College Hospital.

The Wilkins Building, UCL’s main edifice, is purportedly haunted by its namesake, William Wilkins, the architect who designed it. Witnesses claim to have seen his apparition roaming the corridors late at night, seemingly inspecting his creation. In the same building, the ghost of Jeremy Bentham, whose preserved skeleton is displayed in a cabinet, is said to attend committee meetings, with his presence marked by inexplicable cold spots and rustling papers.

The Petrie Museum of Egyptian Archaeology, housed within UCL, is allegedly home to several supernatural entities. The nearby medical school has its share of paranormal tales, with reports of ghostly patients and doctors from its days as a working hospital.
