The Trumpet

The Trumpet

The Trumpet Inn, located on Bilston Street in Wolverhampton, dates back to the 18th century and has a rich history of reported paranormal activity. Originally built in 1785, the pub has been a fixture in the local community for generations. Over the years, staff and patrons have reported numerous ghostly encounters within its walls.

One of the most frequently sighted spirits is that of a young girl in Victorian-era clothing, often seen playing on the stairs or in the upper rooms. Witnesses have described her as appearing solid before vanishing into thin air. Another recurring apparition is that of a former landlord, still keeping watch over his beloved establishment. He has been spotted behind the bar and in the cellar, sometimes rearranging bottles or glasses.

The pub’s infamous “haunted chair” has been the subject of many eerie tales. Patrons have reported feeling an unseen presence when sitting in it, with some claiming to have been forcibly pushed out of the seat. Unexplained cold spots and sudden temperature drops have been experienced throughout the building, particularly in the upstairs rooms and near the fireplace.

Staff members have reported hearing disembodied footsteps and voices when the pub is empty, as well as witnessing objects moving on their own. Glasses have been known to slide off tables or shatter unexpectedly, and doors have been seen opening and closing without any visible cause. The cellar is said to be a hotspot for paranormal activity, with employees reporting an overwhelming sense of unease and the feeling of being watched while working there.
