The Pie Factory

The Pie Factory

The Pie Factory in Sandwell, located in the West Midlands of England, has a rich industrial history dating back to the late 19th century. Originally constructed as a foundry in the 1880s, the building later transitioned into a pie manufacturing facility in the early 20th century, giving it its current name.

During its operational years, the factory employed hundreds of local workers, producing a variety of savory pies for distribution across the region. The building’s thick brick walls and expansive interior spaces are remnants of its industrial past.

Over the years, numerous ghostly encounters have been reported within the Pie Factory. Workers and visitors have described hearing unexplained footsteps echoing through empty corridors and the sound of machinery operating long after production had ceased. Some have claimed to see the apparition of a man in early 20th-century workwear, believed to be a former factory supervisor who died in an accident on the premises.

Another frequently reported phenomenon is the smell of freshly baked pies wafting through areas of the building where no baking has taken place for decades. Several employees have recounted experiences of being touched or pushed by unseen forces, particularly in the old storage areas and basement.

One of the most chilling accounts involves the ghost of a young woman seen wandering the upper floors, allegedly a worker who took her own life due to harsh working conditions in the early days of the factory. Witnesses describe her as appearing distraught and often vanishing through solid walls.

The Pie Factory’s paranormal reputation has grown over the years, with these ghostly tales becoming an integral part of its history and local folklore.
