The Malt Shovel, located in Dudley, West Midlands, England, is a historic pub with roots dating back to the 18th century. Originally built as a coaching inn, it served travelers along the busy route between Birmingham and Wolverhampton. The building’s architecture reflects its Georgian origins, with later Victorian additions.

Throughout its history, the Malt Shovel has been the site of numerous reported paranormal occurrences. One of the most frequently encountered spirits is that of a young girl, believed to be around 7 or 8 years old. Witnesses have described seeing her apparition in various parts of the building, often accompanied by the sound of childlike laughter or footsteps.

Another prominent ghost is that of a former landlord, said to have committed suicide on the premises in the early 20th century. Staff and patrons have reported feeling his presence, particularly in the cellar area where he allegedly took his life.

The pub’s first floor, which once contained guest rooms, is said to be haunted by the spirit of a woman in Victorian-era clothing. She has been seen wandering the corridors and occasionally appearing in mirrors.
