The Hellfire Club, located atop Montpelier Hill in County Dublin, Ireland, has a dark and mysterious past. Built in the 1720s as a hunting lodge by William Conolly, the building’s original name was Mount Pelier. It gained its infamous moniker after being leased to the Irish Hellfire Club in 1735. The club, known for its debauchery and occult practices, was rumored to hold satanic rituals and engage in other nefarious activities within its walls.

Ghostly encounters at the Hellfire Club have been reported for centuries. Visitors have described seeing a large black cat with glowing red eyes prowling the ruins. This spectral feline is said to be the manifestation of the devil himself, who allegedly appeared during one of the club’s meetings. Another frequently reported apparition is that of a young woman in a white dress, believed to be a servant girl who was killed by club members.
