The Four Crosses Inn in South Staffordshire, dating back to the 18th century, has a long history of reported paranormal activity. Located on a former stagecoach route, the inn served travelers for generations before becoming a popular pub. Over the years, staff and patrons have reported numerous unexplained occurrences within its ancient walls.

One of the most frequently encountered spirits is that of a young girl, believed to be around eight years old. Witnesses have described seeing her ghostly figure in various parts of the building, often accompanied by the sound of childlike laughter. Some patrons have even reported feeling a small hand tugging at their clothing when no one else was nearby.

Another prominent ghost is that of a former landlord, said to still keep watch over his beloved establishment. Staff members have recounted seeing a man in period clothing standing behind the bar, only to vanish when approached. Objects in the bar area have been known to move on their own, with glasses sliding across surfaces and bottles inexplicably falling from shelves.

The inn’s upstairs rooms are also said to be haunted, with guests reporting the sensation of being watched or feeling an unseen presence in their rooms. Some have awakened to find their belongings rearranged or doors that were previously closed now standing open.

One particularly chilling account involves a séance conducted in the building during the 1960s, where participants reportedly made contact with multiple spirits, including a former highwayman who allegedly used the inn as a hideout.
