The Royal Court Theatre in Liverpool, England, was built in 1938 on the site of an earlier theater dating back to 1826. The original structure was destroyed by fire in 1933. The current Art Deco building was designed by architect James Bushell Hutchins and has a seating capacity of around 1,186.

Over the years, staff and visitors have reported numerous ghostly encounters within the theater. One of the most frequently sighted spirits is that of a man in a military uniform, believed to be a former stage doorman who worked at the theater during World War II. He has been seen patrolling the backstage areas and corridors.

Another recurring apparition is that of a young woman in Victorian-era clothing, often spotted in the upper circle of the auditorium. Some speculate she may be connected to the earlier theater that stood on the site.

Unexplained cold spots and sudden temperature drops have been reported throughout the building, particularly in the dressing rooms and backstage areas. Staff members have described feeling watched or sensing an unseen presence while working alone in these spaces.

Mysterious footsteps and disembodied voices have been heard echoing through empty corridors and the main auditorium after hours. Some witnesses claim to have heard faint music and applause when the theater is closed and empty.

Props and costumes have reportedly moved on their own, and lights have been known to flicker or turn on and off without explanation. Several actors and crew members have shared stories of inexplicable occurrences during rehearsals and performances, including props disappearing and reappearing in different locations.
