Parc Howard Museum

Parc Howard Museum

Parc Howard Museum is located in Llanelli, Wales, within a Victorian mansion built in 1885. The estate was originally owned by the Stepney family and later purchased by the Howard family in the late 19th century. In 1912, Sir Arthur and Lady Stepney-Howard gifted the house and grounds to the people of Llanelli as a public park and museum.

The museum houses a significant collection of Llanelli Pottery, local historical artifacts, and artwork. The surrounding park features landscaped gardens, a bandstand, and a children’s play area.

Several ghost stories are associated with Parc Howard Museum. Staff and visitors have reported unexplained phenomena, including the sound of footsteps in empty rooms and corridors. Some have claimed to see the apparition of a woman in Victorian-era clothing walking through the museum’s halls, believed by some to be a former resident of the mansion.

Another recurring ghostly figure is that of a young boy, often seen playing in the park or peering out of the museum’s windows. Witnesses have described hearing children’s laughter when no children were present.

In the basement area, now used for storage, employees have reported feelings of unease and the sensation of being watched. Some have experienced sudden temperature drops and the inexplicable movement of objects.

The museum’s gardens have also been the site of paranormal encounters, with visitors reporting shadowy figures moving among the trees and the strong scent of flowers in areas where no flowers are planted.

While the identities of these alleged spirits remain unknown, local legend suggests they may be connected to the Howard family or earlier residents of the estate.
