Northycote Farm
Northycote Farm, located in Wolverhampton, dates back to the 16th century and has a rich history as a timber-framed farmhouse. The property was owned by the Underhill family for several generations before being acquired by Wolverhampton City Council in the 1970s. Today, it serves as a public park and community center.
Over the years, Northycote Farm has gained a reputation for paranormal activity. Staff and visitors have reported numerous ghostly encounters within the old farmhouse and surrounding grounds. One of the most frequently sighted apparitions is that of a young girl in Victorian-era clothing, often seen wandering the corridors or peering out of windows. Witnesses describe her as having long, dark hair and a pale complexion.
Another recurring phenomenon involves the sound of heavy footsteps echoing through empty rooms, particularly in the upstairs areas of the farmhouse. Some visitors have reported feeling an unseen presence brushing past them or experiencing sudden cold spots in various locations throughout the building.
In the farm’s courtyard, there have been accounts of a spectral horse and carriage appearing late at night, accompanied by the sound of hooves and wheels on cobblestones. This phantom coach is said to vanish as quickly as it appears, leaving witnesses bewildered.
The farm’s kitchen has been a hotspot for paranormal activity, with reports of objects moving on their own, unexplained knocking sounds, and the aroma of freshly baked bread wafting through the air when the ovens are cold and unused. Some staff members have even claimed to hear disembodied voices engaged in hushed conversations when the building is empty.
