Kings House

Kings House

Kings House in Wolverhampton, built in the 17th century, has a rich history and reputation for paranormal activity. Originally constructed as a residence for the Gough family, it later served as a school and museum before becoming a community center. The building’s ghostly encounters date back centuries, with numerous reported sightings and unexplained phenomena.

One of the most frequently encountered spirits is that of a young girl, believed to be around eight years old, who has been seen wandering the corridors and staircases. Witnesses describe her as wearing a white dress and having long, dark hair. Some visitors have reported feeling a cold hand grip theirs, only to find no one there when they turn to look.

The ghost of a stern-looking man, thought to be a former headmaster from the building’s time as a school, has been spotted in the upper floors. Staff and visitors have described hearing footsteps and the sound of a cane tapping on the wooden floors when no one else is present.

In the basement area, people have reported sensing a malevolent presence and feeling suddenly overcome with dread. Some have claimed to see dark shadows moving across the walls and hear disembodied whispers.

The building’s kitchen has been the site of poltergeist-like activity, with utensils and pots reportedly moving on their own and the smell of phantom cooking wafting through the air when the kitchen is empty. Staff members have also experienced unexplained cold spots and the sensation of being watched while working alone in this area.
