Keighley Bus Museum
The Keighley Bus Museum, located in Keighley, West Yorkshire, was established in 1992 to preserve and showcase vintage buses and transport memorabilia. The museum is housed in a former foundry building dating back to the 19th century, which was later converted into a bus depot in the 1930s.
Several ghost stories have been associated with the museum over the years. One of the most frequently reported apparitions is that of a man in old-fashioned clothing, believed to be a former worker from the foundry era. Visitors and staff have claimed to see him walking between the buses before vanishing.
Another recurring ghostly figure is that of a young boy, often spotted running around the vintage vehicles. Some witnesses have reported hearing his laughter echoing through the museum halls, even when no children were present.
There have been accounts of unexplained noises, including the sound of bus engines starting and running, despite the vehicles being stationary and non-operational. Staff members have reported feeling watched when alone in the building, particularly in the workshop area.
One of the more chilling stories involves a phantom bus that supposedly appears on foggy nights. Witnesses claim to have seen an old-style double-decker bus pulling into the museum grounds, only for it to vanish upon closer inspection.
The museum’s location on the site of the former foundry has led some to speculate that residual energy from the past may contribute to the reported paranormal activity. Some staff members have reported sudden cold spots and the feeling of being touched when no one is nearby.
