Hack Green Nuclear Bunker
Hack Green Nuclear Bunker, located near Nantwich in Cheshire, England, has a long and secretive history. Originally constructed as a radar station during World War II, it was later expanded and reinforced during the Cold War to serve as a government bunker in case of nuclear attack. The facility was designed to house up to 135 personnel, including government officials and military personnel, for up to 30 days in the event of nuclear war.
The bunker’s existence was classified until 1993 when it was decommissioned and opened to the public. Since then, it has gained a reputation for paranormal activity. Numerous ghost sightings and unexplained phenomena have been reported by staff and visitors alike.
One of the most frequently reported apparitions is that of a young woman in period clothing, believed to date back to the bunker’s early days as a World War II radar station. Witnesses have described seeing her walking through walls and disappearing into thin air.
Another common occurrence is the sound of phantom footsteps echoing through the empty corridors, often accompanied by the sensation of being watched. Some visitors have reported feeling a sudden drop in temperature and experiencing an overwhelming sense of unease in certain areas of the bunker.
In the former telecommunications room, staff members have reported equipment turning on by itself and hearing disembodied voices coming through the radios. Some have even claimed to have captured electronic voice phenomena (EVP) on recording devices.
The bunker’s medical center is said to be particularly active, with reports of ghostly figures seen near the beds and the sounds of moaning and crying when no one is present. Some visitors have reported feeling a ghostly touch or sensing a presence while in this area.
