Garden Reach
Garden Reach is a historic manor house located in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England. Originally constructed in the early 19th century, the property has a rich history dating back to the Regency era. The mansion was built for wealthy businessman James Agg-Gardner and remained in his family for several generations.
Over the years, Garden Reach has gained a reputation for paranormal activity. One of the most frequently reported apparitions is that of a young woman in Victorian-era clothing, often seen wandering the halls and gardens. Witnesses have described her as appearing sad or lost, and she is thought to be the spirit of a former resident or servant.
Another commonly reported phenomenon is the sound of footsteps echoing through empty corridors, particularly on the upper floors. Some visitors have claimed to hear whispered conversations and laughter when no one else is present.
The library of Garden Reach is said to be a hotspot for paranormal activity, with books reportedly falling from shelves without explanation and the strong scent of tobacco smoke lingering in the air, despite smoking being prohibited on the premises.
In the gardens, there have been sightings of a ghostly groundskeeper, believed to be a former employee who continues to tend to the grounds in the afterlife. Visitors have reported seeing him working among the flowerbeds, only to vanish when approached.
The cellar of Garden Reach is also said to be haunted, with reports of sudden temperature drops and an overwhelming sense of unease experienced by those who venture into its depths. Some have claimed to hear the rattling of chains and muffled cries coming from this area.
