Bochym Manor

Bochym Manor, located near Helston in Cornwall, England, dates back to the 14th century and has a rich history steeped in ghostly tales. The manor house, with its granite walls and imposing presence, has been the site of numerous reported paranormal occurrences over the centuries.

One of the most well-known spirits said to haunt Bochym Manor is that of a young woman in a long white dress. Witnesses have reported seeing her gliding through the corridors and appearing in various rooms, often vanishing when approached. Some believe she may be the ghost of a former resident who died tragically on the property.

Another frequently encountered apparition is that of a man dressed in 17th-century attire, complete with a tricorn hat. He has been seen walking the grounds and standing at windows, gazing out onto the estate. Local legend suggests he may be a former owner of the manor who is unable to leave his beloved home.

Visitors and staff have reported hearing unexplained footsteps echoing through empty hallways and rooms, as well as doors opening and closing on their own. Some have experienced sudden drops in temperature and an overwhelming sense of being watched, particularly in the older parts of the building.

The manor’s extensive gardens are also said to be haunted. People have reported seeing shadowy figures moving among the trees and hearing disembodied voices when no one else is present. One recurring phenomenon is the sound of horse hooves on the gravel driveway, though no horses or vehicles are ever found.
