Blackpool Pleasure Beach, established in 1896, is one of Britain’s oldest and most popular amusement parks. Located on the Lancashire coast, it has been thrilling visitors for over a century with its rides and attractions. However, beneath the cheerful exterior lies a darker history of unexplained phenomena and ghostly encounters.

One of the most notorious haunted spots is the Ghost Train ride, where staff have reported hearing disembodied voices and feeling unseen presences. In the 1930s, a maintenance worker tragically died while repairing the ride, and his spirit is said to still linger, occasionally manifesting as a shadowy figure.

The former Alice in Wonderland ride, now closed, was another hotbed of paranormal activity. Visitors and employees alike reported seeing the ghost of a young girl in a blue dress, believed to be a child who passed away on the ride decades ago. Her laughter and the sound of running footsteps have been heard when the ride was empty and powered down.

In the Grand National roller coaster area, witnesses have described seeing a phantom jockey riding alongside the cars, believed to be the spirit of a man who died during the ride’s construction in the 1930s. Staff members have also reported feeling watched and experiencing sudden cold spots in this area.

The park’s oldest ride, Sir Hiram Maxim’s Captive Flying Machines, dating back to 1904, is said to be haunted by the inventor himself. Employees have reported seeing a man in Victorian-era clothing inspecting the ride after hours, only to vanish when approached.
