The hospital’s history is marked by periods of intense medical activity, particularly during the tuberculosis epidemic and later as a specialized cancer treatment center. Many patients spent extended periods at the facility, isolated from the outside world due to the nature of their illnesses.

Several ghost stories and paranormal experiences have been reported at Belvoir Park Hospital over the years. Staff and patients have described hearing unexplained footsteps echoing through empty corridors, especially during night shifts. Some have reported seeing shadowy figures moving in peripheral vision, only to disappear when directly looked at.
